Specialized Road Bikes 2010 Models
New models of road bikes for 2010 include revisions of 2009 bikes and also introductions of new models that are innovative and well- engineered. These are values that Specialized brings to the table every year to increase performance of their professional and non-professional riders.
The Specialized road bike model Roubaix did not see any major changes in the new 2010 model. It is made in full carbon with a curved top tube that allows give. There were basically no improvements to be made in this model which is highly sought after.
The Secteur 2010 model is much like the Roubaix in styling but has an aluminum light weight frame which allows the top tube to be lighter with even more give. This allows the Secteur to be placed in the lower price range of Specialized road bikes for even more riders to enjoy.
The Tarmac line of bikes is in the mid-price range category with both pro and expert frames. The Tarmac SL-3 has been upgraded from the 2009 version of the SL-2 in that it is super lightweight allowing for more speed and agility. Rigidity in the front triangle and added stiffness in the rear triangle also add to it’s quick and nimble ride with acute precision in handling. At first glance, the Tarmac SL-3 doesn’t appear much different than the SL-2, but a closer inspection reveals a bike that is made of only 4 parts with a curved top tube for comfort.
The 2010 model Shiv is truly a work of art by Specialized road bikes. It appears very wide and sports a massive front section. But, don’t let looks deceive you. This bike really cuts wind drag to a minimum as no other bike can. As always, Specialized road bikes are extensively tested to meet their strict requirements of a performance bike and the Shiv is a clear winner when tested in the wind tunnel. The extremely large look may tend to look heavy, but due to great engineering is still very lightweight.
